Sometimes, teeth have to be removed. This procedure is called tooth extraction, and we can do it in one short visit to the office. We extract teeth that cannot be saved due to fracture, decay, or gum disease. Teeth may also have to be removed because of crowding or because primary (baby) teeth do not become loose when adult teeth come in.
During tooth extractions, we numb the area to prevent discomfort. If the tooth is extremely difficult to remove, we will refer the patient to an oral surgeon.
We will provide you with the necessary information and medication you may need to make sure the area heals properly.
